SEAHONENCE is committed to pursing the research and development of products that contribute to the realization of a safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment for patients as well as their caregivers. By bringing to market products that assist and enrich lifestyles, SEAHONENCE seeks to help patients get out of bed sooner (encouraging recovery and autonomy), improve the ability of senior citizens to pursue the activities of daily living (extending their healthy life expectancy), and ultimately prevent the need of care. In this way, the company hopes to contribute to a society whose citizens are secure in the assurance of health and safety.

Message

We will celebrate our fiftieth year in business in 2006. In the past 50 years we have made steady progress towards the present, improving our technical capability as a manufacturer of hospital and home care beds and working to meet the needs of society. In addition to working to develop products that allow patients using our beds to enjoy a safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment, we are committed to the following three initiatives designed to provide value-added services from a customer perspective:

We will seek to pursue the research and development of medical beds and medical and home care supplies, and to become a forward-thinking, development-oriented company capable of producing products that excel in functionality.

The Company Name

The name “SEAHONENCE” comes from the seahorse, a symbol of health and happiness.

Since ancient times, Chinese traditional medicine and medicinal cuisine have associated the seahorse, a fish about 10 centimeters in length, with the ability to enhance renal function. This characteristic of the seahorse had led to its use in treatments for chronic nephritis, renal failure, frequent urination and incontinence in the aged, and difficulty urinating due to enlargement of the prostate and prostatitis. Of note is that the seahorse wraps its tail in seaweed and always maintains an upright posture.

The name SEAHONENCE refers to this symbol of health and happiness, reflecting the company’s wish for customers to use its products to enable them to make a fast recovery from bed-ridden care and to enjoy a lifestyle that is characterized by a state of energetic health at all times.
